I really wanted to love these boots! They are sooo cute in the picture! As a short girl I loved the idea of getting a boost of a few inches from the platform soles. When they arrived I was so excited! They easily slipped onto my feet (I normally wear 7.5 and ordered an 8, they were a bit loose) and they were SO COMFY!!Then I clunked my way over to the full length mirror and couldn’t help but just laugh and laugh. I was quite surprised to see that these looked absolutely ridiculous on me! Nothing at all like how I hoped it would look. It just looked like I had massive chonky feet! It was a hard no, I took them off and put them back in the box for return. Then I gave it a minute and thought, ok maybe it was just different looking and I wasn’t used to it. The boots are SO CUTE by themselves, how could it have been that bad? So I took them back out and gave them another look in the mirror. NOPE. They just looked sooo comically huge on my feet. Maybe it was because I ordered the black ones and it all just blended together to look like enormous moon boots? Part of me wonders if a lighter color would have a different effect. Sadly I packaged them back up and decided to return.If you’re confident that you can pull off this look, all the power to you! I really wish that I could have. They really are very comfortable and cute boots (although they do have this satin ribbon on the back that kept untying in the few steps I took in them, if I had kept the shoes I 100% would have cut that off). Another thing is, they felt a little dangerous to walk in. The facts that there is no ankle support, and they’re several inches off the ground, just felt like a rolled ankle waiting to happen. Aesthetically I wasn’t a fan of the inner shearling around the ankle being white, which stands out in contrast against the entirely black boot, especially when wearing black pants as I was. But other than those things I really did notice the high quality of these boots, and really wish they had worked out for me!I do want to note, this is my 3RD pair of Mel & Syd boots that I’ve bought. They are a REALLY GOOD brand and make high quality authentic Australian sheepskin/shearling shoes, and my other 2 pairs look so great on, which is what made it all the more surprising that these didn’t work out. I highly recommend this brand!
